I had to say goodbye to my oldest cat January 5th. Major Tom was born in Kagel Canyon in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. At around 6 weeks old, he walked up to my husband and became our beloved companion for years to come. He was 25 lbs of fuzzy grey sweetheart. Last year, Major was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism which went on to cause congestive heart failure. He spent his last day surrounded by his family, napping and stealing his sister's food.

I finished Carmilla, which was short and bittersweet. I will say that the parts of the story about their romance were quite long while the more violent parts were quite short. Also I just started Gates of Fire, and it's really good.
